Information about our use of cookies

This Cookie Notice explains how Grey Matter trading through Climb Global Solutions (“Grey Matter”, "we", "us") and "ours") uses cookies and similar technologies to distinguish you from other users of our website. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your browser or the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. Website owners can use cookies for a variety of reasons that can include enabling their websites to work (or work more efficiently), providing personalised content and advertising, and creating website analytics.

Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Grey Matter) are called "first party cookies". Only the website owner can access the first party cookies it sets. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third party cookies". Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. like advertising, interactive content and social sharing). The parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your device both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits other websites that have partnered with them. We do not control the third party cookies set on our site, and we suggest you check the third parties' websites for more information about the cookies they use and how you can manage them.

Why do we use cookies?

We use cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons that are strictly necessary for our website to operate, and we refer to these as "essential" cookies. Other cookies enable us to provide website functionality, to or to enhance visitors' experience on our website by providing them with personalised content and advertising. This is described in more detail below.

Our cookies do not store financial information, or information which is capable of directly identifying you (such as your name or address). Cookies simply allow our website to retrieve this information in order to personalise and improve your experience of our website.

What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?

Cookies are not the only way to recognise or track visitors to a website. We may use other, similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called "tracking pixels" or "clear gifs"). These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognise when someone has visited our website. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our website to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, or to understand whether you have come to our website from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve site performance. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will often impair their functioning.

How can you control cookies?

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences through our cookie consent tool when you load the site.

You can also block cookies by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of our site.

Most modern browsers will allow you to:

See what cookies you've got and delete them on an individual basis.

  • Block third party cookies.
  • Block cookies from particular sites.
  • Block all cookies from being set.
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser.

You should be aware that any preferences will be lost if you delete cookies. This includes where you have opted out from cookies, as this requires an opt-out cookie to be set.

The links below take you to the ‘Help’ sections for each of the major browsers so that you can find out more about how to manage your cookies.
